I was on my motorcycle and a lady moved over two lanes which caused me to lay the bike down. Due to the accident I had two torn ligaments and a partially bruised and broken bone which put me in the hospital. To this day the injury causes me a lack of balance and has definitely changed the dynamics of my life. At the time of the accident, for instance, I was an account manager making about $65,00 a year. Now I'm a security officer making only $16,000 a year because I have no balance and I can't climb ladders because I'll fall off them.

To make matters worse the insurance company wasn't being honest. They were playing games and weren't taking me seriously. I didn't want to take an offer that didn't make sense. Fortunately when I got with Steve, he and I were on the same page. It all came down to strategy. After a certain point my injuries were not even the focal point of the case. It was the insurance company's malfeasance. It shifted because Steve did his due diligence, researching case law, doing his homework, so to speak. Steve is a very strong attorney and did a really great job. Part of what he did was shift the burden off my being injured onto the insurance company's not doing their job properly.

As a result the case settled for the most money I could get. All in all I am very happy with the outcome. And I'm in a much better place because of Steve’s phenomenal work on my case.

My wife and I were going down the freeway on a very clear day. A large piece of wood came flying out of a truck causing my vehicle to veer into a guard rail. We took out about 100 feet of guard rail before catching on fire. The police and fire department came within minutes. The driver of the truck admitted his fault. Both of our necks were bad. We both required knee surgery. The L-5 and S-1 on my back had to have surgery. Then we started with the chiropractors, physical therapy, spinal decompression, the works.

The uniquely difficult thing about our case is that we are both parents and we had a toddler at the time. And when you have two parents disabled trying to care for a child… it's very hard.

I was very unhappy with the prior lawyer I had that I got referred to by my chiropractor. He was supposedly some big shot with offices all over the place. But the reality was we could never get in contact with him. I would email him and wouldn't get any answers. The assistants who worked under him, even during the depositions, didn't know how to defend us. They were even rude and called my wife lazy.

After a while, enough was enough. I started calling other law firms on a Saturday and Steve's office called right back. I noticed a difference immediately between Steve and the other attorney we had. The other firm always wanted to settle out because apparently they never went to trial. They weren’t trial attorneys. But Steve was very experienced in trial and wasn't afraid to go the distance if need be. That makes a huge difference. We eventually did settle out before going to trial and we are very, very happy with the results.

But Steve was very effective and it’s obvious he knows what he's doing. When you call him he's always quick to respond. He always gives you time to talk. He's a great listener and always gives good advice. It was clear he had our best interests at heart from the first phone call. With my previous lawyer, he suggested that we didn't have surgeries. But when I went with Steve, we got my back done and my wife got her knee done.

It's good to know that some lawyers actually do have a heart and soul. They're not all just about the money, they're there for the people. Steve can sleep very well at night, I'm sure. I would very highly and enthusiastically recommend Steve’s office. (Which we have done already!)

I had a motorcycle accident in which I sustained significant damage. I broke my arm and my bike was ruined. Originally, I had another attorney but since the motorist who hit me was unknown, they concluded that I had a lost cause case and dropped me as a client.

Thankfully, I contacted Stephen Counts who immediately started me receiving rehabilitation treatment to my arm. Mr. Counts began pursuing my case with a fervor that I never saw with my former attorney. Within a short amount of time, Mr. Counts and his team had accounted for the following:

1. Positively identified the other driver as the responsible party for my injury and motorcycle damages.
2. Determined the limits of her insurance coverage.
3. Contacted and settled for the maximum amount the insurance would cover.
4. Paid for all my incurred medical bills, and motorcycle repairs.
5. In addition I received a rather large compensation.

I would recommend Stephen Counts to anyone who has been wronged, even if other law firms have told you that you don’t have a case worth their time.

I was involved in a car accident while visiting my daughter in Arizona. I called Steve kind of late -- it had already been about a year since my accident. At first, I didn't even want to hire an attorney, but I quickly realized that I was in over my head. Even though it was late in the course of time, he pounced on my case and got everything done quickly. I was awarded the maximum you can get for my kind of case. I was very pleased with his speed, competence, and the timely manner in which he got the job done.

I was injured in a church restroom when the bathroom door was violently flung open by another patron, causing me to be thrown onto my knees. I was in such pain it was incredible, and one of my knees needed surgery. I had a wonderful experience with Steve, and the outcome of my case was very good.

He is very thorough and does his research. He really, really works on behalf of his clients. To tell you the truth, I don’t know how he did it… how he got all the information that he got. I’m a nurse by profession so I’ve known other lawyers and Steve is very knowledgeable. He knows exactly what to do like it was imprinted in his brain. It’s incredible. The other attorney was like a mad dog -- trying to go after us with tooth and nail -- but Steve was very polite, even through the insults, and kept his cool. I think the good Lord has his hand on him. He’s very genuine.

The bottom line is that Steve is the type of attorney who you want on your side.

I was injured in a car accident and ended up needing neck surgery. I found Steve and I was very happy that I did. Once Steve was assigned to my case, I felt very confident in his abilities. He was able to get a great settlement for me and I’m pleased with the results. I would definitely refer anyone injured in a car accident to call Steve.

I got rear-ended in a car accident and hurt my neck. I had to go to the hospital in an ambulance, and I ended up needing surgery. When Steve took my case, I was very impressed with his professionalism. He has a good personality and he’s an excellent attorney. The outcome of my case was – I WON. I was compensated for my injuries beyond what I had even hoped. Long story short, I’m very enthused about Steve’s services and I’d refer him to anybody.

I had a personal injury claim after a car accident. One morning another car hit the car I was a passenger in. We were almost at the stop light and then it happened. After the accident, like two days later, I went to the Navy hospital. They gave me some medication but my main complaint then was my headache and my back. Later I got the results back for me leg. The results were bad. I was in a lot of pain and it got worse.

After a couple weeks, my daughter contacted Steve Counts’ office on my behalf. I was glad I did. I was very happy with Steve’s services. By all means, I would recommend Steve. He’s really good.

I was rear-ended in a car accident about five years ago. I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. I had scoliosis and had corrective surgery. So from the accident I had really bad whiplash. The doctors were fearful of something being damaged from my previous surgery.

My grandparents got into a car accident right before I did, so they were already represented by Steve’s office. He had actually helped my grandparents so that’s how I was referred to Steve. He did a really good job on my case. Part of the difficulty with my case was that I happened to be turning 18 during the process. So he was able to navigate through the paperwork – getting it all changed – from me being a minor to an adult. He took care of everything for me.

I don’t really know a lot about the judicial system, but Steve did a good job in getting me what I needed. He definitely treated my family really well. We had to spent a lot of time talking with him. He basically got to know my entire family. It was great working with him because he had to get to know everybody during the entire process. He has that sort of personal touch. I would recommend him to anyone!
